👩🎓👩🎓👩🎓⭐️⭐️⭐️Shantaya Barnes is from Pukatja and has been boarding at Clontarf Aboriginal College in Perth this year. NPY Women's Council 's Youth Service has supported her through the boarding school project. She graduated year 12 yesterday! And did a reading in front of the whole school! And obtained her certificate II in Leadership. Her Nana was a huge support in getting her to boarding school and was there to see her graduate alongside Shanny’s Pop Bernard, and Uncle Victor. They’re all incredibly proud of her. She will be moving to Warnan to stay with her Nana and Pop, and wants to work at the clinic or aged care. ... See MoreSee Less

This is the story of a woman who was feeling very frightened one night. She stayed up all night, couldn’t sleep, and started seeing things and hearing voices in her head. She awoke the next morning feeling very weak and tired. This animation is made by NPYWC’s Ngangkari / Uti Kuklintjaku team in the language of Pitjantjatjara - highlighting words for feelings. "Tell someone how you feel!" @healthgovau ... See MoreSee Less
Mary Cassidy - some of the amazing work the UK project do!
"I watched my father closely when he was extracting badness from the person's body, and throw it away. I loved it! I observed my fathers practice for many years. I was like his personal assistant! When he finally did give me the mapanpa, I became mara ala - meaning my hands became open, my forehead became open, and I could see everything differently." Maringka Burton
From the book: Traditional Healers of Central Australia: Ngangkari. We Ngankari have not spoken like this before, this is the first time in history that we Ngankari have revealed so much about ourselves. This book is full of our lives and our stories. www.npywc.org.au/product/traditional-healers-of-central-australia-ngangkari/ ... See MoreSee Less
