Ngaanyatjarra Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Women’s Council (NPYWC) is an Anangu-led organisation delivering health, social and cultural services across the tri-state region. We are seeking an experienced and passionate Advocacy Team Leader to lead our Child Advocacy and Kinship Services programs.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a dedicated team supporting Anangu families and children, ensuring culturally safe, trauma-informed and strengths-based services are delivered across remote communities.

About the Role

Reporting to the Child & Family Wellbeing Services Manager, you will provide leadership, supervision and support to Child Advocacy Officers, Kinship Case Managers and Support Workers working across the NPY Region.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and supporting a multidisciplinary team

  • Providing case planning support, supervision and mentoring

  • Supporting staff wellbeing and managing vicarious trauma risks

  • Coordinating referrals and allocating caseloads

  • Building partnerships with communities and service providers

  • Contributing to program development, advocacy and policy initiatives

  • Ensuring quality reporting and compliance requirements are met

  • Representing NPYWC at meetings, forums and stakeholder engagements

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A degree in Social Work or a related human services qualification, or significant relevant experience

  • Experience leading and supervising staff

  • Knowledge of child protection systems and legislation

  • Experience in family support, advocacy or case management

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience working in cross-cultural environments

  • Excellent organisational and planning skills

  • A commitment to trauma-informed and strengths-based practice

Requirements

  • Current driver's licence

  • National Criminal History Check

Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain)

  • Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)

  • Ability to travel regularly throughout the NPY Region
