NPY Women’s Council is an Alice Springs based Anangu-led not-for-profit organisation with a proud 45 year history. They deliver a wide range of health, social and cultural services to women, men, young people and children of all ages across the NPY region which spans the NT, SA and WA. With a track record of growth and achievement, the organisation is now 300 employees strong and poised for an exciting new era of change to position itself to better support the ongoing future prosperity and success of all Anangu.
This diverse and purpose driven leadership role is charged with the responsibility of driving and delivering innovative, best practice domestic and family violence services and programs across the central desert tri-state region, encompassing communities in the NT, SA and WA.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, key responsibilities include:

Leading, mentoring and managing local and remote based individuals and teams, ensuring a positive, high performing and harmonious culture providing high quality service delivery

Proactive rollout and maintenance of a trauma-informed and culturally safe workplace culture that provides best-practice support to staff in a demanding service delivery environment

Ensuring services and programs are responsive, tailored to meet participants needs, and are aligned with organisational goals and objectives

Providing public facing strategic advocacy, and representation at a regional, State/Territory and Commonwealth level focusing on current and emerging issues and opportunities

Financial oversight and management of the DFVS budget

Reporting in line with NPYWC’s Aboriginal governance framework

Participating in and contributing to the organisation’s strategic and operational oversight and alignment as a member of the NPYWC Leadership group

Preparing accurate and timely reports, submissions and data as required by funding bodies, for Directors meetings, the AGM, orientations and official government visits.
We seek a highly motivated leader ideally with a deep knowledge, passion, real world experience and cultural acumen around the support of Aboriginal women and families in Central Australian communities.
Relevant tertiary qualifications along with significant leadership/management experience in a front line Domestic and Family Violence Service role will be essential.
This Alice Springs based role will require some travel interstate and to communities across the NPY region. Remuneration will be negotiated within the range based on skills, experience and qualifications. Relocation assistance including short term accommodation can be provided.
