Anyupa Stevens
Director
Anyupa was born in the bush at a homeland called Double Tank near Fregon in the APY lands in 1981. Her father’s country is Piltati, an important waterhole close to Nyapari community. Her mother’s place is Areyonga in the Northern Territory.
She has worked as an Aṉangu Teacher’s Aide at Murputja School. Anyupa’s grandmother is the late Kunmanara (Eileen Yaritja) Stevens, from whom she draws her inspiration. Her paintings depict the trips to country she made with her grandmother as a child.
Anyupa has had her work exhibited across many galleries in the NT, Victoria, ACT, SA, and internationally in New Mexico. She has works in Artbank and was a finalist in 2015 in the Telstra National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Awards.

NPY Women's Council is grounded in, and continues to live and work on, the sovereign Lands of the Arrernte people, and the Aṉangu and Yarnangu people - the rightful custodians of the Ngaanyatjarra, Pitjantjatjara and Yankunytjatjara Lands.
