On 28th September 2011, Liza Balmer, Tanya Luckey and Sonia Wongway hit the stage at the Sydney Opera House to accept a Deadly Award for Outstanding Achievement in Aborigianl and Torres Strait Islander Health. This award is in recognition for NPY Women’s Council’s campaign against the growing problem of foetal alcohol spetrum disorder, called “No Safe Amount – the effects of alcohol in pregnancy”. Child Nutrition Team educate young women about diabetes at Kungka Career Conference Child Nutrition Workers presented a workshop at the 2012 Kungka Career Conference held in Yulara in April this year. The conference aimed to equip and educate young Anangu and Yarnangu women about; life skills, career pathways and how to maintain healthy mind, body and spirit.
