About Us

Ngaanyatjarra Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (NPY) Women’s Council is an Anangu-led organisation, governed by women’s law, authority and culture. We deliver health, social and cultural services for Anangu across the NPY region.

About the Youth Team

The NPY Women’s Council Youth Service works with children and young people aged 10–25 and their families. Our service model includes case management, leadership and education, youth diversion and recreation, advocacy and collaboration.

The Youth Program works alongside young people and their communities to provide educational and recreational activities, case management support and advocacy for improved services and resources.

About the Roles

We are currently recruiting two Youth Services Coordinators, with one position overseeing an NT portfolio and the other overseeing an SA portfolio.

As a Youth Services Coordinator, you will oversee a portfolio of remote community youth programs and related projects, with support from the Youth Services Manager and Assistant Manager.

You will provide direct supervision, mentoring and support to Youth Development Officers, Anangu Support Workers and other Youth Services staff within your portfolio, including oversight of case management practice.

Working closely with Anangu communities, you will lead the development, implementation and review of programs and strategies that respond to the recreational, social and emotional needs of young people. You will also collaborate with the broader Youth Team across the tri-state NPY region.

Key Responsibilities

You will coordinate the effective delivery of youth programs and services across your allocated portfolio, ensuring programs and projects meet required outcomes, KPIs and outputs.

The role includes supervising and developing staff, overseeing projects and initiatives, contributing to program planning and service development, preparing funding and performance reports, identifying service gaps, supporting budget management and facilitating community action planning.

About You

We are looking for experienced and resilient professionals who can lead and support teams in complex remote service environments.

You will bring experience in supervising and mentoring staff, preferably within youth services, together with experience working with young people and within a community development framework.

You will have a strong understanding of issues affecting Aboriginal people in remote communities and the ability to work effectively in a cross-cultural environment, including working in partnership with Anangu and taking direction from Anangu Management.

Strong communication, relationship-building, project development and organisational skills are essential, along with a willingness to travel to remote communities for extended periods.

Qualifications and/or extensive experience in people management, preferably within remote youth work, casework, community development or a related human services setting, are required.

What We Offer

The positions offer a base salary of $109,016.82 – $117,743.14 per annum, negotiable based on experience, plus superannuation, generous leave entitlements, salary packaging benefits and a retention bonus.
