you & us together
We are Aboriginal (Anangu) women caring for our communities & their wellbeing. We provide health & social services to families in remote central Australia.
NPY Women’s Council is an Aboriginal led Not for Profit organization.
Support ngangkari to continue looking after people's physical and emotional heath in communities, clinics and hospitals.
Help women to earn their own income from fibre art.
Assist families’ capacity to care for children who are considered at risk.
Help young people living in remote central Australia achieve their goals and thrive.
Provide support, respite, advocacy and case management to older people and people with disabilities.
Overcome cycles of violence with care and respect.
Proudly Anangu led, NPYWC is governed and directed by Aboriginal women across 26 desert communities in the cross-border regions of the Northern Territory, South Australia and Western Australia, – an area covering 350,000 sq km. (NPY Lands)
NPY Women’s Council began in 1980 as an advocacy body based on the need for Anangu women to have a voice and representation in conversations on land rights, policy and cultural affairs of the late 70’s and early 80’s.
In 1993 NPYWC was funded to provide services, recognizing the strength of supporting women and children for the benefit of the whole community. NPYWC is now a leader in the provision of human services in the NPY region.
