The NPYWC Youth Service works with children and young people (aged 10-25) and their families living in the NPY region and is integral to the work we do. The Youth Service model is based on four key components: Case Management, Leadership and Education, Youth Diversion and Recreation and Advocacy.

As a Youth Development Officer, you will work with Anangu to develop and deliver a creative, supportive, educational youth program. Along with coordinating engagement activities, you will provide aspirational case management, supporting young people who are at risk and inspiring those who are doing well.

We are looking for people who have previous youth work experience. If this has been gained remotely, it will be highly regarded. You will be passionate about this type of work, with a willingness and capacity to learn the skill sets you don’t yet know. In this role, you’ll need to have high energy and be committed to working alongside Anangu. You will have values that closely align with our guiding principles, be resilient, driven and strong in relationship building.

The Youth Development Officer positions are remote-based with accommodation provided, returning to Alice Springs every eight to twelve weeks for supervision, case reviews, personal tasks and health and wellbeing.

You will work within a supportive, trauma informed framework and we provide a comprehensive orientation program. You will receive best practice supervision and professional development that includes vicarious trauma, case management and four-wheel drive training. We also provide critical incident de-briefing and a range of counselling services to support you.

In addition to this we offer a generous remuneration package. You will receive an above award salary, additional superannuation, salary packaging benefits, 32 days of annual leave, 15 days of personal leave (to care for you and your family) and a retention bonus. We also provide NPYWC accommodation and use of a company vehicle.
