NPY Empowered Communities (EC) is an alliance of Aboriginal partner organisations whose members represent Anangu families and communities from across the region. The EC Secretariat is the regional backbone organisation responsible for the design and implementation of EC in the NPY region and to support all Anangu tjuta in this important work.
Empowered Communities is auspiced by Ngaanyatjarra, Pitjantjatjara and Yankunytjatjara (NPY) Women’s Council, a leading community service organisation that provides a range of programs to women and their families. Our work spans across 350,000 square kilometres in the cross border region of Central Australia, and is critical to building and maintaining a better future for all Anangu communities within the region.
We are now recruiting for a Project Manager role within the NPY EC Secretariat. Roles are offered on a full time basis for a fixed term period. The role may be extended dependent upon funding.
The Project Manager role is critical to the successful delivery of the EC Secretariat outcomes in the region, and the successful applicant will work extensively with a broad range of stakeholders. Focuses of the role include facilitation of delivery of EC initiatives; assistance with improving access to regional data; supporting Anangu tjuta to be empowered and participate in all aspects of EC’s work; building solid relationships and partnerships with organisations, both Anangu and non-Anangu; and promoting active learning across the Secretariat, Anangu representatives, government partners and other stakeholders.
The ideal applicant will be motivated, proactive and have experience working in a client focused role. Knowledge of project management, experience working with Indigenous communities (especially from a community development perspective) and knowledge of data analysis and management will be highly regarded.
You will work within a supportive, trauma informed framework and have the opportunity to support community development and intercultural liaison working with Anangu and in a team of skilled, experienced professionals.
You will be provided with a comprehensive orientation program as well as a generous remuneration package. You will receive an above award salary, salary packaging benefits, 5 weeks of annual leave, 3 weeks of personal leave (to care for you and your family) as well as a retention bonus.
