Manager – Domestic and Family Violence

Atunypa Wiru Minyma Uwankaraku’ Service is a domestic and family violence support and advocacy service for Aboriginal women and children living in the NPY region. The service is informed by a holistic and relational understanding of violence which acknowledges the key role of family and community relationships in working effectively with indigenous clients.

We are now recruiting for a leadership position to oversee a multidisciplinary team which delivers an innovative, best practice domestic and family violence service to women in the NPY Lands.

The ideal person will have demonstrated experience and understanding of trauma-informed service delivery in a domestic violence or related human services context. You will also have an understanding of a holistic and relational approach to domestic violence service delivery, relevant for remote Aboriginal Australian cultural contexts.

In addition, you will also demonstrate the ability to apply contemporary management and leadership approaches for service delivery, including supporting staff, in a complex context

Critical to this role is facilitating and mentoring the leadership group of the DFVS to provide high quality supervision to both casework and specialist staff and to nurture a culture of learning and reflection for the DFVS as a whole.

And alongside this, ensuring service delivery is underpinned by appropriate professional and critical theoretical frameworks, in particular NPYWC’s Strengthening Community Capacity to End Violence Practice Framework.
