The EC Secretariat is the regional backbone organisation responsible for the design and implementation of EC in the NPY region and to support all Anangu tjuta in this important work
We are now recruiting for an Anangu Engagement Officer to work with our Emerging Leaders Project Officer to support the NPY Emerging Leaders Program, a 12-month leadership program for Anangu leaders aged 25 – 40 years from the NPY region. The program aims to build a pathway for young leaders into leadership and governance roles within local communities, councils and organisations in the NPY region and beyond. The program has been running since March 2018 and is currently funded until June 2022.
We are looking for someone with the confidence to build relationships among participants, and encourage the group to provide peer and mentoring support to each other and new emerging leaders during the program, and after graduation. You will also be expected to build relationships with Anangu across the NPY region to increase understanding and support for the Emerging Leaders Program and to promote the program to future participants.
Based in Alice Springs, you will support the recruitment and orientation of new participants, assist with the organisation of the program and facilitate communication between participants to help build their peer support and relationships within the group. The position is also suitable for a lands-based community member.
Candidates who hold qualifications in training, education or community development will be highly regarded. Experience working in cross-cultural environments including working malparara way with non-Anangu staff in the EC team is desirable.
