Ninti Mission Statement:

Return to Tjungu Page

Ninti (“to know things” in language) provides educational opportunities for Anangu children who either have a disability or are living with a disabled caretaker.  Medical issues often necessitate regular and frequent trips to Alice Springs, leading to school absenteeism. Ninti ensures quality education is targeted to the specific needs and abilities for these children, seeks to maintain positive relations with the community schools (working together for the good of the children) and - when appropriate - advocates and facilitates a smooth, successful transition to the public schools.

I’d also like to thank the donors who have made this program a success: - The Margaret Augusta Fuller Foundation, the Rio Tinto Philanthropic Organisation, the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal, the Alice Springs Town Council, the NAPCAN Foundation, the Mercy Foundation, the wonderful staff at NPY Women’s Council and the donations from the Alice Springs community.

Plus a special shout-out to the Office of Indigenous Policy Coordination for the donation of a fully stocked demountable and a significant number of educational resources.
