The Ninja Circus is a dynamic Indigenous youth circus troupe astonishing young and old with their amazing skills and talent.
The Ninja Circus group has been established since November 2012 as part of the NPY Women’s Council Youth Program in Mutitjulu.
The group consists of 20 boys and 5 girls aged 11 – 18 years of age and is led by Ludo Dumas (Youth Development Officer & Ringmaster).
In 2013, The Ninja Circus troupe displayed their mind blowing performance in Melbourne in front of 85,000 people for the opening ceremony of the ‘Dreamtime at the G Festival’.
The troupe also performed at the opening of the Wide Open Space Festival in Alice Springs, the Alice Springs Desert Festival and Mbantua Festival in 2013.
The show has been created in the purest form of traditional circus and raw inspirational input of each member of the troupe. Ninja Circus is a display of technical skills in acrobatics and juggling, breath taking stunts, magic and comedy.
Whilst having all this fun, the Ninja Circus stars have been developing many other important new life skills. They are meeting many new people and getting confident speaking up to tourists and spectators about their show. It has taken great bravery and courage to perform in front of crowds and try new things. It makes them feel proud, confident and happy. Practicing new circus skills has also given them great focus and discipline. They are learning teamwork by helping and supporting each other. Performing in Ninja Circus has transformed these young people and put a sparkle in their eyes!
